We are seeking a skilled Network Management Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in ensuring reliable and efficient network operations for our satellite systems.
As a Network Management Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the network infrastructure that supports our space missions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and data transfer between ground stations, satellites, and control centers. Your expertise will contribute to the development of resilient and scalable network solutions tailored to the unique challenges of the space environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network architectures for satellite communication systems, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance to ensure efficient data flow and minimal latency.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate network solutions with satellite payloads and ground systems.
- Develop and maintain network management tools and dashboards for real-time monitoring and reporting.
- Perform regular assessments and audits of network security and implement best practices to safeguard data integrity.
- Support the deployment and configuration of networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with industry standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend enhancements and upgrades to the network infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineer, Network Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience in network design and management, preferably in aerospace, telecommunications, or a related industry but open to considering other industries
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, SNMP etc.) and technologies (MPLS, SD-WAN, etc.).
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience with satellite communication systems and related technologies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with network security principles and practices.
- Proficient in network monitoring tools and performance analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
