About Your Opportunity
Reporting to our Operations Process Specialist, you will provide a high level of discipline specific expertise to support day to day water treatment plant operations and supply system operations. You will identify and solve operational problems as well as implement optimisation projects. You will provide expert process engineering input to operations, asset planning and delivery activities at various stages in the project lifecycle. The primary location for this role is North Pine WTP, serving the Northern Region but you may be required to be based / work in other regions based on work demands.

This position has a salary starting at $128,257.14 - $140,504.95 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is a temporary opportunity until January 2026.

About Your Opportunity

You will provide expert process engineering input to operations, asset planning and delivery activities at various stages in the project lifecycle. The primary location for this role is North Pine WTP, serving the Northern Region but you may be required to be based / work in other regions based on work demands.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead technical investigations and troubleshoot process issues
- Observe and study system functioning and performance results.
- Anticipate and identify operational problems by studying operating targets, modes of operation, unit limitations, and monitoring unit performance.
- Conduct and facilitate risk assessments
- Develop operational plans and strategies to improve plant performance
- Plan and manage a diverse range of technical projects and consultants/ contractors, and coordinate activities of multidisciplinary teams
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering field (mandatory).
- Current active RPEQ registration in a discipline relevant to the position (desirable).
- Prior relevant working experience.
- C class Driver's Licence.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (desirable).
- Practical knowledge and experience in the design, commissioning and operation of water treatment processes and technical reviews
- A strong understanding of safety processes, and experience with hazard risk management and drinking water quality management.
- Detailed knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the theory and practice of water treatment processes and management systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory, industry and operational requirements pertaining to drinking water treatment, such as Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough experience with relevant modelling tools and software
