Job Title: Product Designer II


Location: Remote


Duration: 12 Months


Payrange: $70 to $75


Job Description:
  • As a product designer on Platform Design, you will partner closely with engineering teams and TPMs to design internal developer tools and workflows, whether from scratch or improvements to existing experiences.
  • You will play a key role in providing design expertise and evangelizing UX principles to technical teams, who will benefit from your user-centered approach as a means to boost developer satisfaction and productivity.
  • Improving the experience of developers benefits the entire ecosystem of users.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and enhance internal developer tools and workflows that typically span multiple surfaces.
  • Employ end-to-end design process, collaborating with engineers and PMs/TPMs.
  • Utilize a holistic systems mindset and use design systems to ensure proper standards and quality.
  • Regularly engage with engineering customers to understand their needs and pain points and gather feedback from them to iterate and measure success.
  • Run light user research that may involve surveys or interviews (with the help of a playbook).
  • Present your work at the Platform Design Team's weekly review for design feedback.
Skills:
  • 2+ years of industry experience designing digital products, especially for web experience on internal tools, developer tools, or enterprise preferred.
  • Ability to share work early and often, and iterate in tight cycles based on data, and input from users and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with running user research and service design methodologies.
  • Experience using Figma and staying up-to-date on the latest features preferred.
  • A basic understanding of software development concepts and workflows.
  • An interest in or motivation by working on complex challenges.
  • Curiosity, user empathy, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a growth mindset.
