Responsibilities
Let's enumerate what this means in day-to-day ownership. We expect a Sr CloudOps Engineer to be an expert with:
  • Demonstrate hands-on expertise in cloud capabilities on AWS and Azure across multiple environments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • Utilize extensive experience with Kubernetes to streamline operations.
  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes-related solutions such as Cilium, Linkerd, Karpenter, External Secrets, Cert Manager, Metrics Server, etc.
  • Configure and deploy tools like Kafka, Airflow, and Elasticsearch to enhance system functionality.
  • Set up and manage CICD tools, including Jenkins, FluxCD, and ArgoCD.
  • Administer RDS databases, with a focus on MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Set up, configure, and automate systems, both internal and third-party, and ensure effective monitoring and management.
  • Configure and optimize monitoring tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, AlertManager, and AWS Cloudwatch.
  • Utilize AWS tools and services to deploy and manage virtual machines in a highly secure environment.
  • Manage Linux administration, conduct OS scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Ruby), and oversee network configuration.
  • Collaborate across engineering to design infrastructure that supports healthcare and security compliance frameworks including HIPAA and SOC2
  • Recommend utilizing technology, data center operations, and tools to drive ongoing improvement in company operations.
  • Hold ultimate responsibility for maintaining 24/7/365 global operations and promptly addressing production issues in real time.

Requirements
We're looking for a Sr CloudOps Engineer passionate about using technology to help the care management teams within hospital systems. You're someone who believes the right data can help reduce the clinical burden and increase collaboration amongst the doctors, nurses, and case managers treating patients. You have expertise in the following areas:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Kubernetes on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience managing Cilium, Linkerd, Karpenter, External Secrets, Cert Manager, and Metrics Server.
  • Proficiency in one of the infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane).
  • 3-5 years of experience with AWS, Advanced Networking, and/or Security specialties.
  • AWS Certifications include Solutions Architect Associate, Solutions Architect Professional, or DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certifications (preferred).
  • Proficient in programming/scripting with Bash, Python/Go, Groovy, and YAML.
  • Ability to use a variety of open-source technologies.
  • Knowledgeable in security measures, encryption, and network configuration.
  • Experience in working with relational, NoSQL, Graph, and other databases.
  • Familiarity with software development tools such as IDE, version control, and documentation and collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira, Stash, Git).
  • Proficiency in Linux server administration, Data modeling, and SQL programming.
  • A passion for healthcare technology and a desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to peers and management.
