Senior Engineer

Overview: VTG is staffing a Senior Engineer for professional support services contract related to the planning, design, construction, delivery, and testing of ships overseen by the Guided Missile Frigate (FFG) Program Office (PMS 515). VTG is tasked with providing these services to PMS 515 at the Washington Navy Yard (WNY), Washington, D.C. and in Marinette, WI. PMS 515, under the Program Executive Office (PEO) Unmanned and Small Combatants (USC), is responsible for designing, procuring, and constructing the Navy's next class of multi-mission Small Surface Combatants. This includes the Constellation Class, named after FFG-62 USS Constellation, which will deliver capabilities to support various fleet operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide continuous onsite support at the shipyard for outfitting, configuration, and fleet introduction support, including validation of all waterfront installations, variances (waivers/deviations), and modifications.
2. Leads efforts in the design, development, troubleshooting, and analysis of engineering programs.
3. Performs complex engineering and technical-related functions.
4. Analyzes and makes strategic decisions of existing systems and the definition, design, and development of new system requirements.
5. Coordinates development and validation of engineering processes and products, ranging from small component designs to large-scale plant, machinery, vehicles, or systems.
6. Leads all stages of product lifecycle, from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation, testing, and final commissioning.
7. Communicates effectively with all levels in the government, organization, and subcontractors.
8. Their work is the link between perceived social needs and commercial applications.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
2. Professional Engineer License.
3. 15 years relevant professional experience.
4. Experience in surface combatant ships systems.
5. Must have active DOD Secret Clearance and ability to sustain one.

Preferred Skills:

1. Navy experience.
