Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time on-site Resident Engineer to work with a client in the Washington D.C. area (5000 Overlook Avenue, SW). The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, design management, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage the overall planning and execution of major project activities with adherence to prescribed costs and schedules.
• Advocate the proactive identification and resolution of project risks, performance issues, and anticipated challenges.
• Ensure required project documentation is prepared, reviewed, approved, and maintained in accordance with Program's standards and procedures.
• Organize and facilitate project review meetings for assigned projects.
• Oversee the management and implementation of project resources in matters related to initiating, planning, executing, controlling, monitoring, reporting, and closing of projects.
• Confirm that assigned projects comply with Program's established policies and procedures.
• Confirm that project management personnel assigned to projects are trained in Program's requirements, including project management and project controls matters.
• Perform other program management duties as assigned.
• Coordination of daily tasks with other team members as required for smooth performance of client-defined tasks and project deadlines
• Represent Shrewsberry with quality and timely deliverables in concert with knowledge and understanding of the project objectives
• Utilize Shrewsberry project accounting software to accurately and timely report employee expenses and recording of time.
• Utilize certain software on projects (Procore, P6, etc), as appropriate.
• Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling.
• Drive/travel to client meetings, field work, and site inspections.
• Supervise and manage additional company and project personnel, as necessary.
• Be aware of cultural, political, and community surroundings during certain projects.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
• A valid driver's license; ability to maintain insurability under organization insurance policy.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
• 20 + years of experience serving municipal clients involving planning, consulting, design, and construction services for a wide variety of services including water and wastewater planning and design
• Heavy experience in project management and running/leading a project.
• Profession engineer license required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Knowledge to apply for and obtain relevant construction permits and licenses
• Strong technical writing skills are required
• Excellent oral and written communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under aggressive timelines and to contribute positively in an overall team environment
• Decisive with good judgment. Identifies and resolves problems in an efficient and effective manner. Reviews and analyzes project information effectively. Uses own judgment and acts independently; proactively seeks input and solutions from other team members as appropriate for complex or sensitive situations.
• Able to organize complex set of items into manageable issues for action, analysis or resolution. Prioritizes and plans work activities, organizes personal and project timelines and deadlines, tracks project timelines and deadlines, and uses time

$135,200-176,800
