Role Overview

GasBuddy is a leading fuel and in-store products savings platform that empowers consumers to make smarter decisions and save money on gas. With a passionate community of millions of users, GasBuddy is transforming the way people think about their fuel purchases.

The Director, UX will lead the design and consumer experience strategy for the GasBuddy platform. This role requires a leader who can collaborate and inspire a team of designers, product managers, marketers, and engineers to create seamless and engaging user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a clear UX vision and strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights for data-driven design decisions.
  • Oversee the entire design process, ensuring consistent, user-centered experiences across platforms.
  • Establish and maintain design systems and guidelines for product consistency.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align on roadmaps and prioritize initiatives.
  • Advocate for users, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement based on feedback and analytics.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in product design for web and mobile applications, preferably in consumer-facing products.
  • Strong proficiency in design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and prototyping tools.
  • Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles, usability testing, and user research methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze user data and derive actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with A/B testing and optimization techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau, Localytics).
  • Exposure to the Retail domain/ Convenience stores with consumer-facing digital channels.
  • Prior experience of design UX for best-in-class apps in Shopping/Travel or other categories.
