Position Description
We are seeking candidates for open-rank tenure-system faculty positions in Mechanical Engineering at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. Applicants from all areas of mechanical engineering are encouraged to apply, with special priority for those focusing on advanced manufacturing, energy science and technology, health innovation, semiconductor science and technology, transportation science and engineering, advanced design, and mechanics of materials.
Successful applicants will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise and mentor graduate students, develop an independent, externally funded research program, participate in the department's activities, and provide service to the UT Dallas and professional communities. The appointment commences for the fall 2025 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. ABD status will be considered at the application/interviewing stage. Candidates are expected to work effectively in a highly collaborative, dynamic environment, produce research and scholarly achievements, deliver high quality teaching, and engage students from diverse backgrounds.
