Water/Sewer Project Engineer

This position can work out of one of the following Ciorba office locations: Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Crown Point, IN, or Indianapolis, IN.

Responsibilities:

• Water distribution system analysis and water main design;
• Wastewater collection system analysis and sanitary sewer design;
• Pump station and lift station analysis and design;
• The candidate will serve as the technical lead on projects, reporting to the Project Manager, and will manage other engineers and technicians to achieve completion of project plans but may also complete certain tasks independently;
• Design tasks include calculations/models, plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks;
• Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects;
• Review and check engineering work completed by others;
• Maintain positive client and vendor relationships;
• Mentor staff engineers;
• Will report to our Vice-President of Water Resources.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering;
• 6-15 years of water resources experience, including the activities described above;
• Illinois and/or Indiana Professional Engineer (PE);
• Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multidisciplinary projects;
• Microstation proficiency; AutoCad experience a plus;
• Experience with water distribution system and wastewater collection system analysis and design;
• Experience with pump and lift station design;
• Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, SWMM, and other hydraulic models.
