Job Summary (Basic Functions) : LG Chem Advance Materials, Inc. is actively searching for a Production Engineer to join our team in Clarksville, TN.
The Production Engineer will be an individual contributor reporting to the Production Manager and work alongside our Production team.
As a Production Engineer your role will be focused in the following areas: Product Operation Coordination, Product Control Analysis, Safety, and Production Control. Your primary focus will be on new factory setup, early stabilization, and customer certification acquisition, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and optimizing production processes.
In the area of product operations, you will, analyze performance metrics, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating production scheduling, and actively work towards achieving KPIs related to new facility setup, early stabilization, and customer certification.
This position is based full time in Clarksville, TN and is not a remote role.
What You'll Be Doing
Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):
New Factory's Product Operation Setup and Early Stabilization:
  • Lead the setup and commissioning of new production facilities, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • Stabilize operations through troubleshooting and process refinement to meet operational targets
New Hire Education and Training
  • Design and implement comprehensive training programs for new hires in product department, covering production processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Develop KPIs to assess the effectiveness of training programs, focusing on knowledge retention and operational proficiency.
Product Operation Coordination
  • Coordinate and supervise production activities to meet quality and schedule requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and ensure efficient production processes..
Product Control Analysis
  • Analyze production data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement corrective actions and monitor KPIs to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a culture of safety within the organization
Production Control Responsibilities
  • Manage production schedules and coordinate workflow to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including inventory management and order fulfillment.
Customer Certification Acquisition:
  • Develop strategies and action plans to obtain customer certifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare for customer audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What We're Looking For
Competencies/Desired Skills:
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations, with proficiency in data analysis tools and systems.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, particularly in new facility setup and operational stabilization, and effective management of production schedules and resources.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance: Expertise in developing and implementing safety protocols, maintaining quality standards, and achieving certifications.
  • Training and Development: Ability to design and deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires, and develop KPIs to evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical information
  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in Lean manufacturing principles
  • Leadership and Adaptability: Demonstrated leadership ability and adaptability to changing priorities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, and proven experience in manufacturing roles.
Requirements:
  • A Minimum 5 years of proven experience in manufacturing/production-related roles.
  • Able to Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours and Participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Able to respond off hours and weekends to troubleshoot plant issues.
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 40 lbs.;
  • Exposure to heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards;
  • Able to travel to different sites and locations; undertake long-term international travel.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other garments as needed. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, Masks, full body gowns, hair nets, gloves and hearing protection.
Preferred Qualification/What We'd Like to See:
  • Experience in operating a newly built factory from scratch.
  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean / six sigma, SPC and capability analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
  • Proficiency in the use of PC and Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word etc.)
  • Excellent analytical ability to effectively analyze production data.
