Position Summary


Manage and technically lead the Infrastructure team responsible for the planning, implementing, and support of intricate Hybrid Cloud Networking solutions. Your role involves management and technical oversight for designing of network architectures for both on-premises data centers and cloud infrastructure, providing technical guidance, and developing solution proposals. Strong skills in network, wireless and security design, critical thinking, and excellent communication are essential.

Job Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Plan, implement, and support complex Hybrid Network infrastructure, wireless and cloud solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope and within budget.
  2. Provide expertise as a subject matter expert to advise the entire Information and Instructional Technology organization around Hybrid Cloud Networking.
  3. Design network architectures for on-premises and cloud infrastructure, provide technical guidance, and develop solution proposals.
  4. Participate in regular reviews of network management logs and other systems to ensure performance, integrity, and network uptime.
  5. Practice effective project management skills, including the ability to adequately manage assigned projects and report project progress and status. Lead projects to upgrade and/or expand the network including design, planning, testing, and implementation.
  6. Develop and maintain document repositories and architectural diagrams related to the installation, administration, maintenance, and use of systems.
  7. Plan and execute changes which impact the Hybrid Network Infrastructure following established change management processes. Ensure planned testing activities are developed, documented, and executed.
  8. Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures. Work to ensure availability of applications and services by monitoring systems and services used at all AACC locations.
  9. Assist the Director, Infrastructure|Cloud|Security in the college-wide budget planning process to review and ensure new initiatives are properly vetted for technology needs.
  10. Support the development of SOW's, RFP's, and RFQ's for Information and Instructional Technologies related technologies and maintenance while working very closely with the Purchasing department.
  11. Maintain expertise of current Hybrid Cloud Networking trends and provide guidance about the direction of various Hybrid Cloud Networking technologies.

Required Qualifications:


  1. Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  2. Current industry standard Cloud related certification, e.g., Microsoft Azure required.
  3. Minimum of 5 years experience independently resolving complex technical issues involving public Cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure.
  4. Minimum of 2 years supervising technical staff.
  5. Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining complex Enterprise Wireless, Local Area Networks (LANs) & Wide Area Networks (WANs).
  6. Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols (RIP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IGRP), IPSEC, wireless and TCP/IP protocols, switched Ethernet and VLAN technologies.
  7. Significant experience with cloud (AWS, Azure) networking and/or security.
  8. Weekend and evening and on-call hours may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:


  1. Certifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert. However, other Cloud provider certifications will be considered.
  2. Extreme Networks, Aruba Wireless, FatPipe WAN Optimization and APC UPS experience.
