Swagelok Indiana | Cincinnati is the local authorized sales and service center for the Swagelok Company servicing customers located in Indiana, Central Kentucky, and Southwestern Ohio. The Application Engineer will play an integral role in the success of our Sales and Fabrication departments. This individual will work hand-in-hand with our Field Engineering and CAD Specialists, and will be responsible for the quotation and design of our customers’ fabrication assemblies and solutions as well as provide technical support to both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will possess a Mechanical Engineering Degree, strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication and presentation skills as well as a strong understanding of 3D CAD Software applications. This role will work closely with our Customers, Account Managers, Field Engineering and Production Technicians to ensure a reliable solution is provided to the customer. Responsibilities

  • Completion of and active participation in Swagelok’s Application Engineering Program
  • Work closely with Field Engineering and Account Managers to quote and design (via SolidWorks) simple to complex fluid system solutions based on customer needs.
  • Create and review Bill of Materials in SAP (Swagelok’s business system) to ensure efficiency and accuracy for Production Technicians
  • Develop strong understanding of Fluid System design principles to support internal associates as needed (Production Technicians, Customer Service, Account Managers)
  • Act as a go-to point of contact for production assembly questions
  • Interact with Customers and Account Managers to better understand project-specific customer needs
  • Attend weekly Production Meetings to oversee quoted & designed projects as needed
  • Complete “Engineering Reviews” as needed with Production Technicians prior to project delivery
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure a timely delivery of components for customer projects

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology is required (mechanical, chemical, or fluid technology – Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred)
  • 1-5 years or more experience working as an Application Engineer, or other applicable experience
  • Technical experience in engineering, analytical instrumentation, automotive, alternative fuels or similar industries is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of fluid system components and applications is preferred.
