Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Mechanical Engineer to lead and mentor a small and talented team of mechanical engineers. This individual will be the Director of Mechanical Engineering and is responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system solutions across a range of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. As part of our leadership team, you will contribute to strategic growth, client relations, and the continued success of our engineering services.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the small but growing mechanical engineering department, ensuring high-quality designs and project deliverables.
  • Oversee mechanical engineering projects from conception through completion, including HVAC and plumbing design, specifications, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with other discipline leads to integrate mechanical solutions into multidisciplinary projects for commercial buildings.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for the engineering team.
  • Help maintain client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for project discussions and proposals.
  • Drive innovation and efficiency in mechanical system designs, focusing on sustainability and energy performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred) with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, and building mechanical systems.
  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with commercial buildings, including some form of leadership.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Strong communication, project management, and client relationship skills.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary firm and coordinating with architects, structural, and electrical engineers is a plus!
