Description

This leader provides leadership to Humana's enterprise catalog of APIs. This role will provide thought and execution leadership across the technical platforms, process and governance of APIs used to connect internal Humana systems. This leader will also provide support to the Industry Interoperability function and team who owns the external connectivity between Humana and 3rd parties, ensuring that the technology environment, process and governance supports their needs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Define and refresh the enterprise interface strategy to ensure it meets the needs of various teams
  2. Manage the technology platforms supporting the API function (eg Apigee, IIB, APIC, Snap, Gemfire, DataPower, etc)
  3. Manage the enterprise API standards for versioning, contract management, etc
  4. Manage the enterprise API catalog and encourage reuse within the teams
  5. Act as a liaison and facilitator between API consumers and service providers to accelerate development timeframes
  6. Act as a thought leader within the company to educate and evangelize the use of APIs in increasing velocity and improving operations
  7. Support the Industry Interoperability capability team where needed with appropriate technology, process or governance to facilitate their success

Qualifications
  1. Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise software engineering leadership roles in leading-edge companies
  2. Previous experience managing an enterprise API capability for an enterprise company required
  3. BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field required
  4. MS or higher in an engineering discipline is preferred
  5. Experience with the IT Process Change Management
  6. Ability to develop action plans with work estimates as part of IT projects
  7. Have worked with a high-availability systems environment
  8. Ability to solve critical production issues when required
  9. Ability to apply the principles of analytical and critical thinking skills and other professional practices to diagnose or define problems, collect data and solve abstract problems with widespread unit or organization impact
  10. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  11. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  12. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  13. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  14. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  15. Prior management or team lead experience
