Electrical Engineer - Data Center Construction


Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join a leading construction consultancy for a data center construction project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design, installation, and maintenance, specifically within large-scale facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that electrical systems meet the required specifications, industry standards, and project timelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for data center construction, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to create integrated designs.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
  • Conduct load calculations and analysis to determine power requirements and distribution.
  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and safety regulations.
  • Perform site inspections and audits to monitor progress and ensure quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues that arise during construction and commissioning.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including reports, manuals, and as-built drawings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes related to electrical engineering and data centers.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Min. 3 years direct data center experience
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering or electrical construction, with a focus on data center construction or similar facilities.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
