Role:
- Architect the RF front ends of high bandwidth, millimeter-wave satellite payloads
- Design, simulate, implement, and measure passive/active RF sub-systems at microwave frequencies, including SSPAs, LNAs, power amplifiers, up/down converters, oscillators, antennas, etc.
- Integrate these systems into the spacecraft by working closely with the rest of the team
- Specify, procure, and integrate third party vendor hardware
- Mentor junior engineers and develop/improve internal engineering practices
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in RF design
- Deep knowledge of RF systems, radio architectures, and basic RF concepts (transmission lines, digital communications, active circuits, etc)
- Hands on experience with RF PCB design, layout, and simulation using industry standard software (Altium, ADS, HFSS, etc)
- Passion for designing, building, and testing RF hardware for microwave frequencies in a fast-paced environment

Bonus:
- MS or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or equivalent
- Experience with RF payloads for communications satellites
- Experience implementing SSPA-based phased arrays
- Experience with designing high reliability electronics for harsh environments such as space or automotive
- Experience with Software Defined Radios and associated skillset
- Experience packaging RF components into multi-chip modules
