GPI seeks a full-time Traffic/Transportation Engineer for our growing Albany Office. This position provides the flexibility to be involved in public and private development projects with diverse work from Traffic Studies and Signal Designs to Pedestrian Safety, Multi-modal Operations, and Roadway Lighting Design. The immediate role will require the candidate to prepare traffic studies and/or designs with minimal guidance and to collaborate effectively with other staff members to produce quality deliverables for our clients. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to transition into leading the office's traffic group in the coming years. For more information, visit: What You'll Be Doing: Performing technical traffic analyses and preparing technical studies. Leading challenging and varying projects Mentoring junior staff Communicating with clients and local and state agencies and attending public hearings Managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets Assisting with writing contracts and reviewing invoices Ensuring the technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various project plans, reports, and design documents What You Need: BS in Civil Engineering or a related field 8 + years of experience in traffic engineering with both private and public clients Experience with project management Communication skills for public hearings and working with public agencies A PE license is required PTOE Certification is a plus Knowledge of traffic analysis software applications (Synchro/SimTraffic and HCS)
