Job Description Summary:

PayPal Marketing Technology team is dedicated to creating a best-in-class platform. We are looking for highly talented, professional, and motivated engineers to join our team. As a Senior Software Engineer on our Marketing Technology Platform, you will be at the forefront of building and enhancing the Java based Spring applications that move millions of profile data from PayPal Source systems to Adobe SaaS Platform. You will engage in all facets of application development, including design, coding, ensuring security measures, testing, and overseeing production releases.

In your day-to-day role you will:

  1. Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software solutions using Java in a Linux/Unix environment, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
  2. Independently work on multiple product features, utilizing your technical expertise to propose innovative solutions for both new and existing functionalities.
  3. Manage your own project deliverables, timelines, and priorities, effectively balancing multiple tasks to meet project deadlines and performance targets.
  4. Actively engage in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and incorporating feedback into your own work.
  5. Share your knowledge and experience to help onboard new members onto the team quickly and efficiently.

What Do You Need To Bring:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
  2. 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong emphasis on Java, including experience with the Spring Framework.
  3. A deep understanding of data structures, object-oriented design, and algorithms.
  4. Experience working with large-scale, highly available, and distributed systems.
  5. Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional tests, preferably in a Java environment using tools like JUnit, Mockito, or Spring Test.
  6. Proficiency in using Maven as a build and dependency management tool.
  7. Experience working on SaaS platform(s): Adobe, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
  8. Experience designing and developing RESTful web services.
  9. An understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) concepts.
  10. Experience using Atlassian JIRA, Service Now, Atlassian Confluence tools.
  11. Experience in delivering projects using Agile Methodology.

Work Permit and Relocation Prerequisites: Must already possess valid authorization to work in the country where the position is advertised/located. Relocation support will not be provided for this role.
