BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Packaging Engineer will work as a part of the Continuous Improvement team to develop cost-effective sustainable packaging within Kubota North America. They will develop and implement packaging automation, reduce part damage and focus on process improvement activities using Lean and Kaizen methods.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures and guidelines:

  • Develop sustainable packaging solutions for the Parts network within KNA
  • Lead change management projects to achieve desired state
  • Lead process improvement activities for all functions within distribution centers
  • Develop packaging solutions to enhance durability, safety and environmental impact to our products
  • Partner with suppliers to improve quality and sustainability in order in increase safety, quality and process efficiency
  • Evaluate current packaging design to create cost-effective improvement projects and lead to completion
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field required.
  • At least 3 years' experience working in a high-volume distribution center
  • At least 3 years' experience of Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen or TPS methodology
  • Six Sigma Certification, Blackbelt preferred
  • Project Management experience, PMP certification preferred
  • Computer skills required, to include Microsoft office and WMS experience (Project, Visio, Power BI, Automate, Analysis for Excel)
  • SAP S4 Hana & AutoCAD experience required
TECHNOLOGY: Ability to learn and useMicrosoft & Google Suite, Power BI, Automate, AutoCAD, SAP and other related systems
TRAVEL: ( 25% travel)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office equipment including computer, copier, phone, printer. Operation of Excavators, wheel loaders, industrial and agricultural tractors, and other agricultural and construction equipment.
