The Opportunity
Mipac has recently opened an office in Tucson Arizona, and we are looking for a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join the team. At Mipac as a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will get exposure to larger scale projects, have opportunities to travel to international locations (anywhere from Africa, Peru, and/or Canada), and a chance to enhance your technical capability through exposure to multiple control systems and diverse projects.
Your Responsibilities
Control System Design: Design, develop, and implement control systems solutions for mining, mineral processing, and other projects, ensuring they meet engineering standards and client requirements.
Technical Proficiency: Use broad knowledge and skills to resolve complex engineering problems.
Technical Leadership: Take ownership of control system aspects within projects. Where required, develop, review, and approve project deliverables.
Documentation: Independently produce technical documentation including reports, specifications, procedures, and manuals to a high standard.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication, project alignment, and successful outcomes.
Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers, fostering their professional growth within the company, including supervising their work.
Site and Commissioning Support: Participate in unaccompanied site visits and commissioning activities to ensure control systems operate as intended in real-world environments.
What Do We Need From You?
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license for Arizona.
A willingness and readiness to travel nationally and internationally, embracing diverse project landscapes. The travel duration will be dependent on the project.
Experience in mining and mineral processing projects/operations.
Relevant PLC Programming Experience (e.g., Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Yokogawa, or ABB).
Relevant SCADA Programming Experience (e.g., Citect, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, Cimplicity).
Experience with generating and interpreting engineering documents such as functional descriptions, alarm registers, C&E matrix, commissioning plans, and inspection test plans.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, essential for seamless interaction with clients and team members.
