Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Design and deliver meaningful, measurable features in our highly scalable cloud applications, directly enhancing our customer’s VDI experiences.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

This team is looking for a proven software engineer who can contribute to our Horizon cloud services product, improve its functionality, and make it easier for our customers to configure and use our application and desktop remoting solution on the cloud with ease of management and monitoring. The team is very passionate about the work, product, and we are looking for a similarly passionate, creative, and self-motivated engineer who is a quick learner and can deliver on end-to-end responsibility. You should be flexible and willing to work in a constantly changing environment with the right attitude and deliver on our promise to our customers, partners, and ourselves.

Responsibilities

  • Be a significant contributor in a strong engineering team spanning multiple geographies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requirements, design, implementation, execution, debugging, and test automation using Java
  • Breathe, live, and champion one or more architectural facets of the product, propose product roadmaps, and nurture the migration into a pure cloud world.
  • Focus on the products' architectural goals, ability to take an open-ended problem, architect and design an elegant and comprehensible solution.
  • Be the champion for attaining a higher quality bar with an emphasis on reliable automated tests with continuous integration in an agile environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years as a developer and a flair for building cloud solutions and/or microservices in Azure/AWS or similar
  • Track record of designing and developing reusable, high-performant, and scalable systems.
  • Experienced Java coding skills and at least one scripting language (Ex: Python, shell, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in web technologies like RESTful APIs, Spring boot based microservices development, and Kubernetes frameworks, as well as experience in technologies such as MongoDB, Elastic Search, Redis, Kafka
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Quick learner, self-motivated, and can work independently
  • You have strong verbal, written communication skills and a collaborative problem-solving style.
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable commute of the office.

For US based candidates, the annual pay range (OTE for commissioned roles; Salary for other roles) for this position is: $101,000 - $230,000. The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
