For our Client, one of the leading retailers in North America, we are running an Edge 2 Edge Network Insight Center (E2NIC). The E2NIC provides top quality services in the area of network infrastructure management, monitoring, proactive engineering, reporting, and problem/issue resolution. This position also includes project work; SD WAN cutovers from MPLS, IOS upgrades, device patching, you should have operational excellence and understanding of the Cisco and Juniper product lines. We operate in a follow the sun model to assure 24/7 support – local team in Colorado supports 12h each day.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving network and system problems
  • Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
  • Knowledge of SD technology is a must, this includes, configuration, protocols and operational understating including trouble shooting.
  • Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems
  • Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS) – excluding hardware installs
  • Deploying SD WAN (Versa) to edge routers on Client sites, performing mass upgrades of IOS in networks highly sensitive to unplanned downtime.
  • Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitoring performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitoring system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Providing Level-1 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Working within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Selecting and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
  • Cooperating with other team members to design and implement new tools or improvements in existing tools
  • Participating in 12x7x365 on-call rotation

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on network engineering experience?
  • CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • Layer 1 –- 3 knowledge is a must, and a firm understanding of SD WAN, Versa, and MPLS is critical Solid
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, such as Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, Grafana, or similar tools
  • Understanding of security principles and practices, including firewall configurations and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation and network tasks, experience with deployment automation tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
  • Familiarity with network security practices and tools
  • Experience with incident management and ticketing systems - Service NOW
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
  • Solid understanding of server and operating system concepts (Windows, Linux)
  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear communication with team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent situations calmly
  • Knowledge of SLACK, Confluence, and JIRA is a plus
  • 3 Years experience in a NOC environment
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes and procedures
  • Collaborative attitude to work effectively within a team environment
  • University degree in Computer Science or a related subject


Pay range is $50-$60 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
