Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively seek continuous improvement and automation opportunities within the testing process
  • Acquire and apply expertise in the quality engineering discipline, provide guidance, assistance, and direction to others
  • Identify, recommend, and effectively execute standard practices applicable to the discipline
  • Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Collaboratively engage with relevant stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external, to shift from finding defects to proactively preventing defects
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
  • Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist
  • Provide quick feedback throughout the development and design process; analyze, and report on the test results to confirm that the quality of the intended solution is met.
  • Support test planning, design, development, test case automation, and test execution to achieve business outcomes.
  • Serve as a partner and provide ongoing support to the enterprise and/or business, aligning to Testing Methodology and QE best-practices
  • Analyze the end-to-end solution requirements to recommend pragmatic and sound test specific solutions; may analyze, develop, debug, and maintain test suites, traceability matrix, and log defects/assist in defect resolution, as required
  • Implement effective test strategies and provide guidance to delivery teams in using tools / setting up environments that support ongoing quality and traceability
  • Support the team in test activities across the testing lifecycle, with a focus on value-driven outcomes
  • Leverage virtual assets to support virtualization of any incomplete, unavailable code, service, database, etc.
  • Understanding of test data management to reuse automated test data provisioning capabilities.
  • Contribute to the design and development process to ensure built-in-quality code
  • Implement test scripts ensuring they are integrated into the CI/CD pipeline for functional and non-functional automation.
  • Responsible for documenting and supporting the proactive identification of end-to-end test solution designs and early automation opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the development team to define and validate appropriate user stories, acceptance criteria, and definitions of done / ready.
  • Provide feedback, reporting, and analytics on overall quality, performance, user experience, and future bug prevention.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in the Financial Services Industry.
  • Strong experience in understanding functional requirements, planning, designing, and executing end-to-end tests.
  • Create & execute integration and end-to-end test scenarios & cases.
  • Strong experience in test automation development for full stack components.
  • Experience in CI/CD environment.
  • Good experience working in Java and JSON.
  • Excellent hands-on experience using tools like Jenkins, Mavin, Jira /JTMF, Bitbucket.
  • Relational Database – SQL writing and understanding of queries.
  • Experience with API testing.

Desired:

  • Good experience with Splunk
  • Experience using Unix scripting and commands, XML, and Python.
  • Data and File transfer testing for Batch Processing / Scheduling, FTP, IBM MQ / DistributedMQ
  • Experience in Test strategy and planning.
  • Test Leadership experience
