Description
We are seeking an overseas field engineer to join our international team in an exciting OCONUS location. The team comprises highly technical and motivated individuals. The engineer for this role will troubleshoot complex problems, requiring excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment. Previous experience as a systems engineer or systems administrator is desired, along with prior OCONUS experience and IP networking knowledge.
The position requires excellent communication skills, flexibility with team work and multitasking due to two locations working in different time zones. The engineer must be able to perform in cross-functional teams and interact with customer personnel professionally.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years' experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in systems engineering/administration, diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and network problems, Linux Operating System, system/network monitoring tools, and scripting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to ascend/descend 4 to 5 flights of stairs, carry a box weighing between 40 and 50 pounds, and drive up to 5 hours in one day when required.
- Maintain hardware in lab and field sites.
- TS/SCI Polygraph required.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Experience deploying and maintaining Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Asterisk based PBX installation and configuration.
- Working knowledge of Visio.
- Previous field experience.
