What you’ll do:
As a Security Automation Engineer at Optiver, you will join our dynamic global security team to safeguard our data, infrastructure, and operations. This role offers you the chance to take ownership of cybersecurity controls, ensuring our defenses are resilient and responsive to emerging threats across our global offices.
You will leverage your expertise in IT infrastructure and project management, combining it with a problem-solving mindset to tackle complex business challenges. This is a highly collaborative role, where you will engage in security operations, engineering, risk analysis, and security governance, driving continuous improvement in our security posture.
- Develop and Implement Solutions: Build and deploy solutions that automate and manage our security infrastructure, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our global security operations.
- Lead Engineering Projects: Take ownership of operational issues and lead project-based work, guiding initiatives from conception to successful completion.
- Collaborate and Support: Handle security-related requests and serve as an escalation point for partner teams, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of security matters.
- Global Support: Participate in a rotating on-call roster to provide round-the-clock support for our global operations, ensuring continuous protection of our assets.
What we’re looking for:
- Engineering Experience: 2+ years experience in an Engineering or DevOps role, with a strong foundation in IT infrastructure.
- Security Focused: A deep interest in cybersecurity trends, events, and research, coupled with a strong engineering instinct for solving both technical and business problems.
- Automation Proficiency: Hands-on experience with automation scripting in Python, Ansible, and Terraform, along with a solid working knowledge of Linux and Windows systems.
- Project Delivery: Demonstrated ability to deliver projects end-to-end, both independently and as part of a team, from initial planning through to implementation.
- Cloud Expertise: Experience with public cloud platforms, such as AWS, and understanding their role in modern security architectures.
