Our software is used by both Apple engineers and third-party accessory manufacturers to develop and debug their systems, with high visibility throughout the company. As a Software Engineer in our team, you will work with a diverse array of cross-functional partners throughout Apple on challenging projects incorporating Machine Learning and AI. The software you build will be instrumental in applying ML and AI to solve problems, provide insights, and drive decision-making within Hardware Engineering and beyond. We move at a fast pace, iterate quickly, and work side-by-side with our customers to ensure we're building the most effective solutions possible. In this role, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Write high-quality code that's testable, scalable, and able to be maintained by others in the future.
2. Collaborate across teams and organizations to distill complex requirements into a concrete action plan.
3. Research new ML and AI techniques and advocate for innovative ways to apply them to new and existing problems for our customers.
4. Lead design reviews, author documentation, and give meaningful feedback on the designs of peers.
5. Represent your work to the team and leadership through demos, presentations, and retrospectives.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated software engineering experience in one of the following: web, native or Machine Learning/AI applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• 2+ years software engineering experience working in Python or other object-oriented programming language(s).
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with LLMs, designing and training ML models, and building RAG pipelines.
• Ability to architect complex systems in a reusable, modular way.
• Curiosity to learn new technologies and passion for sharing that knowledge with others.

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,900 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
