Arctos Technology Solutions is seeking a Chief Software Engineer for its Product and Technology Labs division, to define and implement best software development and engineering practices across multiple software projects, encourage agility with rigor, inspire and define new projects, and as necessary, get your hands dirty on current projects to help get them across the finish line.

In this position you’ll help us execute our current projects to deliver game-changing technology, and you’ll also seek out and lead our pursuit of new projects aligned with our mission. We’ll want you to look at what we develop today, think creatively about what that means we can deliver tomorrow, and help write the proposals that will kickstart that effort.
This is a leadership position from day one – successful candidates must be comfortable mentoring, guiding, and providing effective critical feedback.
Requirements
- A passion and curiosity for new technology and a desire to apply it to real-world problems.
- The ability to think big picture and grok the details simultaneously.
- A strong software engineering background with at least 7 years of experience working with software teams.
- A good understanding of best practices for large and small software development teams.
- Prior experience delivering solutions with one of the major IaaS cloud providers (Azure, GCP, AWS).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and retain a US security clearance.
Nice to Haves
- Experience working in a research and development (R&D), innovation-focused setting.
- Experience working with the US government.
- Applied experience working with machine learning models.
Education
- High School Diploma required. Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar is preferred.
Physical/Working Environment
- Primary work environment is a standard office setting with occasional lab work.
Travel
- Some travel is required and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
