Job Responsibilities:

This job is responsible for tool and service designs within a technical domain that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards, and policies. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring middleware platforms are patched with the most current version of software, helping to manage risk to the customer.
  • Providing WebSphere Application Server administration that includes server installation, configuration, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Working with customers (application teams and/or testing teams) on a daily basis and providing WebSphere and Java support.
  • Serving as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices in application development.
  • Designing WebSphere infrastructure and WebSphere topology design for high availability and failover capability.
  • Providing technical consultation to other team members and their supported areas.
  • Communicating with business partners at an enterprise level.
  • Interfacing with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Executing production changes for Bank integrated and regulatory releases with precision.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Java/Linux Middleware Engineering.
  • Experience providing middleware engineering support of WebSphere, JBoss, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, Tomcat, Appian, etc.
  • Experience delivering middleware enterprise projects and regulatory legislative initiatives.
  • Ensuring production stability from an ongoing support standpoint.
  • Experience providing WebSphere Application Server administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Experience serving as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices in application development.
  • Experience designing WebSphere infrastructure and topology for high availability and failover capability.
  • Providing technical consultation to team members and their supported areas.
  • Communicating with business partners at an enterprise level.
  • Interfacing with internal customers and external vendors at various points of the SDLC.
  • Executing production changes for Bank integrated and regulatory releases with precision.

Desired Qualifications:

  • WebSphere/JBoss/Tomcat/Appian/IBM HTTP Server/Apache Middleware administration experience.
  • Knowledge of shell, Jython, and Perl scripting.
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Familiarity with tools like BladeLogic, Dynatrace, JIRA, Ansible Tower.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience with release orchestration tools like Xebia Labs Release is an added advantage.
