THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and consistent. Responsibilities include developing and executing a release testing plan. The role includes developing project plans, test cases, planning execution, preparing test data, and reporting execution status. Works closely with technical staff to plan QA cycles. The ideal candidate understands the healthcare ecosystem, SDLC, and RDBMS concepts.


WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:

This role will work on the data engineering team at MHN and will help to ensure data deliverables are delivered accurately and on time. This includes implementations for new clients and supporting our existing clients and in-house care management services. If you like working with different cross-functional teams and provide good technical solutions with existing or new services, you would be a perfect fit for this role.


  • Supports technical development by testing database changes, ensuring accuracy and functionality through both manual and automated testing.
  • Verifies and validates changes to the data warehouse, including developing and managing comprehensive test plans.
  • Leads and develops processes for auditing data warehouse changes, ensuring a high standard of data quality and consistency.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains automated test frameworks, ensuring robust end to end testing coverage.
  • Leads and develops CI/CD test integration, collaborating with development teams to implement automation scripts as part of the build and release process, leveraging tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent.
  • Communicates test results to the development team, collaborating to resolve any issues effectively.
  • Leads security and performance testing efforts, including API testing for potential vulnerabilities and system performance validation.
  • Drives process improvement by adopting industry best practices.
  • Monitors and ensures adherence to relevant healthcare industry standards, including compliance with EDI, HL7, and other healthcare data formats.



WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • BS in technology or related analytical field, MS preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience, with a strong understanding of RDBMS concepts, plus experience in MS Excel for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOPs tools for seamless integration of automation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills, with the ability to track a data element from source through transformation to target.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare medical, pharmacy, and other data, with a strong grasp of standard healthcare data feeds in EDI, HL7, and flat file formats.
  • Strong skills in programming languages such as Python and experience in API testing tools like Postman for validating RESTful services.
  • Experience in collaborating and building strong relationships across departments.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and scripting languages to develop and maintain automated test suites.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and test-driven development methodologies.
  • Experience with using version control systems for managing test code repositories.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence
