The Digital Systems department at NIO is responsible for building highly reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure and platforms for intelligent and fully autonomous driving vehicles, and its scope ranges from vehicle operating system software platform, central computer and SOA-based digital architecture, automation simulation test platforms, cyber security, vehicle cloud & connectivity.

A primary mission of the Digital Systems North America R&D Center is to lead the research and development of industry-leading operating systems for autonomous driving vehicles (NVOS – NIO Vehicle Operating System) from the ground up. This is an opportunity to solve a wide range of technical challenges, such as automating and instrumenting software that deeply evaluates embedded software.

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Staff Software Developer Engineer in Test in North America R&D Center to help accelerate bringing a perfect experience in the eyes of NIO's users.

Responsibilities

1. Developing and contributing to the automation test of the functional safety vehicle system.
2. Adding implementations to the test framework for extending testing capabilities, diagnosis and troubleshooting.
3. Work with SCRUM teams to fully deliver high quality validated functional safety compliant solutions.
4. Write specifications, test plans, and user instructions for test equipment and test software.

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of experience in test automation, planning and execution using test frameworks.
2. BS / MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Excellent experience in Python, bash scripting.
4. Proficient usage of Git.
5. Ability to successfully and effectively work within a global team environment.
6. Customer advocacy, strong sense of ownership regarding tasks and responsibilities.
7. EV Automotive interest.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in C/C++ and Python is a MUST.
2. Experience in embedded software testing.
3. Experience with Docker, Jenkins and Gitlab.
4. Linux development environment automated provisioning.
5. Experience with different HW MCALs.
6. Experience with FreeRTOS & SafeRTOS.
7. Experience with functional safety ISO-26262 standard requirements.
8. Automotive networks.

Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $143,200.00 - $186,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
