Inside the Role
A successful candidate for this role will play a critical part in defining and leading the Operations Quality digital landscape of data, tools, analytics, and workflows for the Current Product Quality team, in which they will work. The team strives to identify and solve customer facing quality problems quickly and robustly to reduce DTNA and Customer pain. This position directly supports the GO2030 initiative of "Customer Conviction" by ensuring our customers receive the best quality trucks by improving warranty fault rates and costs on current vocational and on-highway products.
This role is a blend of Data Engineer, Data Analyst, and Data Science. Responsibilities will include ensuring uptime of existing data tools, metrics/reports, workflows, and evaluating where we can make continuous improvements, plus helping define and implement the future state of quality data within the department and broader organization. There will also be requests for warranty data pulls and truck populations to help define issue scope and financial justification.
This is a cross-functional role that will interface with multiple working groups, including: IT, CODA, Compliance, Finance, Purchasing, Launch and Change, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Plants, Aftermarket, and Service Engineering. There is also potential for cross-level (manager, director, etc.) exposure. Requests from the immediate quality team and broader organizations will support the team's quality issue identification, structured problem solving (ILCS and FRACAS), and rate planning processes to find, track, and solve quality problems faster.

Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500.00 - $126,000.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Lead data landscape engineering for new and existing business intelligence processes: collecting user stories, tying together data sources, data validation, tool/dashboard development, and end-user reviews. This requires intimate knowledge of warranty, engineering, field service, CX, Aftermarket, and product data source tables, manipulation, and business application of that data.
  • Define and project manage how the Current Product Quality team should source, organize, and show quality data for existing and new processes, such as Issue Identification, Initial Launch Customer Support (ILCS), Manufacturing Emerging Quality (MEQ), and Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS). Define how those processes will integrate into Salesforce from a data perspective.
  • Ensure current data processes uptime: analytics operations to correct discrepancies and ensure data quality, monitor performance of the reporting environment; identify problems and implement solutions; ensure the reports are running at optimum speed and efficiency.
  • Represent Quality and act as technical business liaison between the aforementioned cross-department groups and internal to team to provide requirements for quality systems development, align best-practices, and communicate.
  • Communicate reporting changes, enhancements, and modifications - verbally and/or through written documentation (email, PPTX, Alation, etc.) - to management and team members.
  • Assist in the development and definition of documentation, standards, and training for the reporting environment.
  • Answer warranty data requests for defining a quality problem scope and financial approval (OLT), and provide analytical/statistical analysis to management as needed.
  • Improve and emphasize a quality-focused culture across the organization.
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience OR an associate's degree with 4 years of related experience OR 8 years of related experience.
  • Extensive experience in data structure, quality, query building and process standardization within SAP HANA and the production DB2 tables across multiple CV's and or tables.
  • Extensive experience with the data analysis and visualization tools Tableau, Alteryx, HANA Studio, and one of AQT or Alation SQL.
  • Experience with Alation documentation, in both creating documentation and searching documentation.
  • Familiarity with DTNA's Products, Manufacturing Plants, and internal processes (engineering release, Purchasing, LCM, production operations, Compliance, Aftermarket, Service, telematics, etc.).
  • Proficient communication skills (written and spoken) with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management, coaching and leading cross-functional team members to achieve tangible, timely results with competing priorities.
  • Experience working with end-users to collect user story requirements and IT to implement those requirements.
  • Creative and continuous improvement mindset and demonstrated ability to develop new processes and tools.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Prior knowledge of the Snowflake database environment, experience with development and querying within the environment.
  • Extensive experience with the Microsoft 365 platform and/or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with the following DTNA SAP applications: QAS, SKUgle, C3 and/or Cognitive search.
  • Familiarity with quality tools and statistics, plus internal processes to CPQ (ILCS, Issue ID, FRACAS, MEQ, etc.).
  • Ability to speak and present with upper management in a concise manner.
