Principal Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer - Scientist
The position is eligible for a hiring bonus up to 10% of the first year’s annual salary.
Envisioneering has a long history of leading the research and development of naval electronic warfare (EW) systems. The Envisioneering Principal Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer / Scientist is the senior staff scientist responsible for the company’s scientific leadership in support of the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Tactical Electronic Warfare Division (TEWD). The Principal RF Scientist will apply broad experience in research and development of RF spectrum technologies to solve the most pressing problems in defense of our naval forces. The Principal RF Scientist will work closely with government scientists and engineers to advance existing R&D projects, investigate, and propose novel solutions related to the application of RF energy to electronic warfare, countermeasures and directed energy for the U.S. Navy. The successful candidate will be able to assess both studies and phenomenology and translate technical solutions into proof-of-concept approaches leading to the development and testing of prototype systems in both laboratory and field environments. Minimum Skills/ Qualifications:
- 20+ years of experience in a physics or engineering field (15+ with PhD).
- Experience in Design, Development and Implementation of EW Systems or high-power microwave systems for DoD Applications.
- Experience with DoD research and development and intelligence organizations in directed energy weapons or RF countermeasure technology.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing concepts and communication technologies.
- Must have demonstrated experience with RF measurements and writing associated test plans.
- Must have a Top-Secret Clearance.
Education:
- Master’s degree (Ph.D preferred) in Physics or Engineering discipline.
SALARY RANGE:
- $140,000.00 - $160,000.00
