NVIDIA Senior Hypervisor and RTOS Engineer - Santa Clara, California

The Hypervisor and RTOS Team within NVIDIA DRIVE Software plays a critical role in NVIDIA's expansion into artificial intelligence and autonomous vehicles. Our job is to facilitate the sharing and separation of system resources while achieving real-time, safety, and security requirements. We develop Hypervisor and RTOS with a strong focus on automotive quality, safety, and security needed for the real-time, highly available system-level components of world-class Autonomous Vehicles.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Design and implement core hypervisor features for NVIDIA Tegra SOCs.
  2. Implement industry standard virtualization interfaces (e.g., FFA, Virt IO).
  3. Develop software features that improve system performance and minimize virtualization software overhead.
  4. Develop micro benchmarks to measure and improve the cost of frequent hypervisor operations.
  5. Develop software that meets automotive safety and security standards, applying formal methods (ADA SPARK, TLA+) to improve software integrity.

What we need to see:

  1. BS, MS in CS/CE/EE or a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
  2. 12+ years of experience.
  3. Proficiency in C, C++.
  4. Experience in the development of core virtualization software features.
  5. Strong understanding of operating systems and computer architecture.
  6. Experience on ARM 64-bit architecture.
  7. Clear, concise communication skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  1. Knowledge of Automotive quality standards, ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434.
  2. Hands-on experience with formal verification methods and tools, such as Ada/SPARK and TLA+.
  3. Experience with implementation of industry standard interfaces like ARM FFA, Virt-IO Transport.
  4. Experience with performance optimization of virtualization software.

The base salary range is 220,000 USD - 339,250 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits ( NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
