Electrical Engineer
Summary: Design, develop and evaluate electrical systems and associated equipment by applying a fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering principals. Confirms system and component capabilities through stringent testing with the highest regard to safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Design control systems to meet customer specifications and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Conduct vessel surveys and provide system equipment estimations during quoting phase
  • Create system drawings and documentation to support shipyard installations using AutoCAD
  • Familiar with PCB design, layout and assembly
  • Submit and support documentation during ABS / USCG certification review
  • Write System Manuals, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, and Periodic Test Procedures
  • Support programming & production departments during construction & in-house system testing
  • Provide technical support for service department personnel during vessel commissioning
  • Provides technical support for ABS and USCG system compliance.
  • Communicate with customer through all development phases to ensure expectations are met
  • Familiar with operation of electrical test equipment
  • Require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or higher
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Exhibits creative problem solving skills

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 2+ Years preferred
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and
concrete variables.
Certificates and Licenses: Individual must have the ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (or TWIC).
