The System Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all servers and infrastructure systems that are located on premises and in the cloud. The System Engineer carries out responsibilities in some or all the following technical areas: Storage Area Network support, VMware support, Server maintenance, System upgrades and procurement, Infrastructure design and layout, Disaster Recovery design and implementation, OS installation, maintenance and patching, management of system tools and applications, Active Directory services.
Requirements:
Very strong Hands-on experience (Required 5+ years) in the following:
Very Strong knowledge of sizing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Storage Area Network devices (HPE Nimble or similar storage system)
Very strong knowledge of building, administering, and troubleshooting VMware environments from scratch
Windows Administration (Active Directory, PowerShell Scripting, DNS, Group Policy’s, Auditing)
MS Azure AD / AWS / Cloud
Intune or similar MDM experience
Backups Appliance and Cloud Storage
Experience in the following areas is a plus:
HITRUST / HIPAA
Working knowledge of Mimecast, Sentinelone, ZScaler or similar experience using email and web proxies, anti-virus, encryption, DLP, etc.
Systems / Application monitoring (SolarWinds, Netwrix or equivalent systems)
MFT/SFTP
VOIP
Certification may be helpful

Deploying and administering of company’s servers and digital infrastructure including management of network operating systems, servers, SAN’s, VMWare, Windows, file and print services, domain controllers, Azure, Active Directory, monitoring and reporting, Data center capacity management and planning, disaster recovery, backups, and recovery.
Responds to events, incidents, and outages with required as needed and under the direction of the IT Manager, and in coordination with the technology leadership team.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and associated training plans for HITRUST.
Perform regular backup, restore operations, and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Working knowledge of common services such as: DNS, SMTP, DHCP, HTTPS, SFTP etc.
Handles support tickets for issues and outages with email, SAN, cloud providers, virtual environment, etc.
Ability to communicate technical information in a clear manner, both written and verbally, to end users.
Ability to come into the office as this is an on-premises position.
Availability to work nights and weekends during (un)planned outages and other special circumstances, with 24/7 accountability.
Availability to enter on call rotation.
