Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Software Engineer, C++ .

About the job:

• Deliver core capabilities to National defense.
• Work in a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence.
• Looking for C++ Application Developers to work in a rapid pace, collaborative, small-team environment and be able to engineer, prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions into Government frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work independently on program tasks or features; may own small projects or large tasks; technical lead or lead developer for an Agile team.
• Demonstrates fluent, idiomatic mastery of C++; comfortable with software design and architecture, not embedded C++.
• Provides thought leadership at a team level.
• Regularly communicates with customers, presents status, engages in program-level meetings and processes.

About you:

• A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
• At least eight years of professional experience and fluency in C++.
• At least two years of professional experience using Linux operating systems.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Knowledge of writing and debugging Makefiles.
• Knowledge of writing and debugging shell scripts.
• Knowledge of Data Structures.

Preferred Skills:

• An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
• Experience with software prototyping, development, and integration within government frameworks.
• Experience with the exploitation and analysis of OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data.
• Professional experience with DevSecOps.
• Professional or academic experience with Agile software development.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $214,000
