Job Description: As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems for our automotive production processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems for automotive manufacturing equipment.
  • Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other control devices.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production staff, and other stakeholders to integrate control systems into manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain safety standards and protocols.
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical controls engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.) and HMI development.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel design.
  • Experience with industrial automation, robotics, and motion control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the automotive industry.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Familiarity with network communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Certification in electrical or controls engineering is a plus.
