We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer III specializing in Natural Resources to join our dynamic team here at RK&K. In this role, you will lead and manage projects focused on environmental compliance and sustainability for transportation clients, including the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and local municipalities. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that meet client needs while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:

    • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project objectives are met.
    • Assist with management on multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
    • Conduct environmental assessments, impact studies, and permitting processes related to transportation projects.
    • Assist with technical guidance on natural resource management, including wetlands, streams, and endangered species.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
    • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for new project opportunities.
    • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other professionals within the organization to deliver high-quality results.
    • Participate in project reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
    • Analyze data related to environmental conditions and project impacts.
    • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for regulatory submissions and client meetings.
    • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management and clients.

Required Education and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or management, specifically related to natural resources and transportation projects.
    • Proven experience working with transportation clients, particularly TDOT and municipal agencies.
    • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
    • Proficient in technical software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS) and data analysis tools.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.

Preferred Education and Skills:

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license
    • Certifications in environmental management or natural resources (e.g., CPESC, CESSWI)
