CGI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer and Developer who can bring expertise and industry standard methodologies for developing tools and integrations in support of a government agency. The right candidate plays a key role, leading a small agile development team working alongside other contractor agile teams. This is a phenomenal opportunity to augment your current skills, as well as learn new technologies while building upon existing client relationships.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Engage with architects/product team to comprehend functional challenges, prototype new ideas, and new technologies, and help to build innovative solutions.
- Craft and develop solutions following established frameworks, application development standards and quality processes in projects.
- Assess the impacts on technical design because of the changes in functional requirements.
- Gain knowledge and control of client integration endpoints (live API's, Batch, Queue based processing).
- Work within a fast-paced Agile DevOps team contributing and collaborating with the scrum team daily.
- Participate in all phases of Agile methodology (planning, grooming, coding sprint items).
- Mentor junior developers, which may include performing code reviews. Suggest tools, technologies, and standard processes that improve stability.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 7+ years of Software Development and Engineering Experience.
- 3+ years of proven experience in cloud architecture, specifically working with AWS.
- Experience with Data application development and version control systems such as Git.
- API development experience including RESTful and JSON.
- Microservices architecture experience.
- Agile development experience.
- Proficiency with the following technologies and tools: Python, Web applications, React or Angular, HTML5 / CSS 3, JavaScript, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Java, AWS, Jenkins, Jira.
- Experience and understanding of Accessibility standards.
- Experience performing security scans and analysis using tools such as SonarQube or Fortify.
Desired
- Experience working with the Atlassian toolset.
- Experience working with multiple multi-functional Agile teams.
- Project Management experience.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Compensation
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,800 - $165,200.
