RK&K is hiring an Engineer I to join our successful and growing central Florida team. This position is located in Tampa, Lakeland or Orlando, Florida. As an Engineer I with RK&K, your responsibilities will include working with a team of engineers on the design of assigned projects. Projects will include, but not be limited to roadway widenings, resurfacings, project development & environmental (PD&E) studies, and flooding investigations. Clients include the Florida Department of Transportation and several municipalities. This position offers a hybrid work environment.
Essential Functions
- Design and analysis of drainage and stormwater management systems
- Design and analysis of wet and dry ponds
- Design and analysis of floodplain compensation sites
- Prepare design documentation
- Prepare environmental permit drawings
- Work with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challenges
- Coordinate with clients and sub-consultants
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
- Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in transportation engineering with a focus in drainage design
- Engineering Intern (E.I.) license in Florida or ability to obtain within six (6) months
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Floodplain and bridge hydraulic analysis
- Regional watershed modeling
