This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. The role is located in Charlotte, NC and hybrid with 2 days onsite weekly.
Onward Search is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All contractors will be paid as W2 employees.
As a UX Designer, you will contribute to various projects, including those focused on outages & reliability, energy usage and analysis, clean energy initiatives, and the main customer website.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design human-centered experiences by understanding user needs, creating graphic elements, and building intuitive user interfaces.
- Work on complex projects and represent the UX function within cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with business partners and software engineers to gather and evaluate user requirements.
- Develop storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps to communicate design ideas.
- Create and refine graphic user interface elements and process flows for digital solutions.
- Design low- and high-fidelity UI mockups and prototypes to guide development.
- Produce original graphic designs, including images, sketches, and tables.
- Present draft designs to internal teams and stakeholders, gathering feedback to refine solutions.
- Troubleshoot UX issues, such as responsiveness, and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain consistency with design style standards, including fonts, colors, and imagery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, IT, or related fields (e.g., UX Design, Graphic Design, Human-Centered Design).
- 1–2 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 2 years of prior experience in addition to a degree.
- Strong understanding of digital design patterns, user interface best practices, and design tools.
