Principal Software Engineer - AI Infrastructure Engineering

We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team on developing cutting-edge tools to maintain and improve AI and GPU service stability, reliability, operability, and features critical to ensure customer workloads run seamlessly on OCI cloud.We're looking for strong leaders with background in distributed systems, scalability, availability, and passion towards customer satisfaction to help build and maintain cloud scale services.As an individual contributor, you will apply your experience and technical depth in creating optimized solutions to improve OCI's AI and GPU services.Please note, we're hiring for multiple levels of positions from Senior to Senior Principal.Career Level - IC4ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent proven experienceWe’re hiring for multiple levels from IC3-IC5.3-10+ years' experience building and operating large scale, highly available, cloud based distributed systemsProficiency in a modern programming language such as Java, C, C++, C#, Go, or Python, with proficiency in additional languages preferredValidated understanding of operating system fundamentalsStrong understanding of data models and distributed persistence technologiesStrong troubleshooting and performance tuning skillsProficiency in network, distributed, asynchronous, and concurrent programmingKnowledge of professional software engineering standard methodologies for the full software development processStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software developmentExperience with big data solutionsProven track record to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environmentExperience building and operating scalable infrastructure software or distributed systemsExperience using Amazon Web Services such as EC2, EBS, Lambda, Dynamo and S3 or equivalentsPassion for technical leadership and mentoringDirect experience with fleet orchestration for both virtual and containerized workloadsKnowledge of Machine Learning fundamentalsWorking familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architecturesWorking familiarity with storage principles, protocols and practicesWorking familiarity with building secure software using modern security principlesTechnical leadership experienceDisclaimer:Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations onlyUS: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum.
