We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Controls Engineer to join our client's team in Troy, Ohio. The successful candidate will take ownership of managing capital equipment projects from start to finish, focusing on optimizing assembly, material handling, and process efficiency. This is a hands-on role that requires strong project management and control systems expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for labor and cost reduction, as well as quality improvements.
  • Develop and implement control solutions for assembly, material handling, and process improvements.
  • Specify and design control systems for capital equipment projects.
  • Lead power distribution aspects of projects.
  • Write, develop, and debug PLC control programming.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors to develop systems and programming.
  • Integrate various equipment components into cohesive manufacturing processes or lines.
  • Prepare justifications, proposals, and purchase contracts for capital equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company automation equipment standards.
  • Manage equipment vendors and contractors, and review automation equipment drawings.
  • Interface with plant personnel and provide expert-level support for equipment.
  • Oversee new equipment startup and debugging processes.
  • Track and report project content, schedule, and budget, ensuring successful completion.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering, project management, and hands-on work in automation.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Proven track record in managing projects, process equipment design, and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with power distribution systems.
