SENIOR CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to leverage advanced engineering principles with minimal oversight. In this position, you will gather and analyze data from the field and project information, applying your creativity and expertise to create innovative solutions and designs that meet our clients' needs. Experience in industrial service areas such as Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers, Utility, Energy, and Manufacturing is preferred. This role requires occasional travel to client facilities, both locally and out of state, for meetings and to collect data through field observations and measurements.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Leading and directing the work of other engineers and designers on designated projects while serving as a technical resource for the project team and department.
- Preparing and reviewing designs to ensure compliance with engineering standards, applicable codes, constructability, industry standards, completeness, and presentation.
- Performing independent, advanced design of steel structures, foundations, masonry, and concrete.
- Designing complex load-bearing structures or structural elements, such as buildings, platforms, or pipe racks, and analyzing building materials proposed for use in construction.
- Developing blueprint or specification packages, including scopes of work, for bid and/or construction submittals.
- Investigating and determining the causes of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations and research, and providing reports summarizing findings.
- Coordinating and reviewing structural steel shop drawings, concrete submittals, and other equipment or material submittals to verify compatibility with project design parameters.
- Reviewing and responding to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) on assigned projects.
- Acting as Project Manager on select civil/structural projects, based on experience.
- Assisting in updating department standards or managing department software, as assigned.
- Recognizing and correcting design discrepancies with strong attention to detail.
- Obtaining data from field observations.
- Interfacing with clients and other engineering disciplines to effectively and efficiently develop civil/structural designs and documents.
- Working in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and maintaining strong communication and interpersonal skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in one or more states.
- 12 to 25 years of direct experience as a civil/structural engineer.
- Advanced knowledge of building codes relevant to civil/structural design.
- Strong experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, STAAD, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, RISA, Tekla Tedds, and other engineering or drafting software is advantageous but not required.
- Optional experience in basic surveying for determining project elevations using leveling and/or total station equipment; limited stormwater/sewer design for small-scale in-plant systems or extensions of existing systems.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Willing to undergo a background check (employment verification, criminal history, education).
- Willing to submit to a post-offer drug test.
- Valid driver’s license.
COMPENSATION: $90,000 - 155,000 USD, annually.
