The Los Angeles Clippers are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer who will assist with the creation, maintenance, and improvement of information systems used by the Basketball Operations department. As a Developer, you will be instrumental in building and taking ownership in projects through the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, deployment, and support as well as enhancing and improving current systems. You will collaborate with the Front Office, Coaches, Scouts, Sports Science, and others within Basketball Operations.

To be highly considered for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a computer programming field; strong proficiency with building web based user-friendly tools/software, working with and building Rest and RPC APIs, as well as familiarity with data warehousing; and experience with data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, data visualizations, cloud-computing platforms, and database architecture/transactions. Though not a requirement ability to develop analytical models.

This is a full-time role based at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA and is eligible for our competitive benefit offering including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company contribution, Well-Being Allowance, and more. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to support LA Clippers operations.

What You Will Do

  • Design, maintain, and implement basketball data infrastructure, information systems, and other software applications
  • Build user-friendly tools for use by Basketball Operations
  • Design and develop interactive tools including data visualizations
  • Implement best-practice features for the organization’s internal software application
  • Interface with Basketball Operations to design and build new reporting services
  • Process and maintain data pipelines from various sources via Rest API, XML/JSON loads, and Steaming APIs
  • Maintain, support, and improve current infrastructure and back-end services
  • Support Basketball Operations in other tasks as required

Your Background, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a computer programming field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, etc)
  • Ability to work in all phases of the product life cycle including requirements-gathering, design, testing and implementation
  • Experience with varied programming and scripting languages (Python, R, JavaScript…)
  • Experience with Git and version control tools (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, etc.)
  • Experience with front-end tools (HTML, CSS and related frameworks/libraries such as Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc.)
  • Experience in SQL databases (MSSQL, Postgres, etc.), and optimizing end-to-end performance across backends
  • Knowledge of basketball data and basketball statistics
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services)
  • Able to develop and build statistical/analytics models
  • Experience building websites in modern frameworks such as Reach, Svelte, etc.
  • Experience in optimization of streaming APIs and data.

Compensation

  • The range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annual compensation. Compensation package offered will be based on multiple individualized factors, including a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
