The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities include activities related to program Software Engineer such as:
Required Skills
- Support large software development program in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Apply agile methodology.
- Maintain existing applications as requirements are requested and when updates are required.
- A current/valid Security+ Certification, or equivalent, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
- Bachelor’s Degree with five (5+) years in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required, or Master’s Degree and three (3+) years of experience or PhD with no years of experience, or nine (9) years of applicable software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Must have five (5) to seven (7) years of experience as a Software Developer in Unix/Linux environment.
- Must have three (3) to five (5) years of direct experience with C/C++, C shell scripts & Perl.
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience with Spring Boot, Java, and Angular.
- Experience with a relational database, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Self-starter who can get up to speed quickly and can work independently.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and possess a team-oriented attitude.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree with seven (7) years of experience as a Software Developer in Unix/Linux environment, or Master’s Degree and five (5) years of experience or PhD with two (2) years of experience.
- Experience with PostgreSQL database.
- Experience with C/C++; Spring Boot, Java development a plus.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix and scripting such as Perl, C-shell and other scripting tools/language.
- Experience using configuration management tools, preferably JIRA.
- Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.
