Responsibilities:

  1. Works with the engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions.
  2. Responsible for deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure.
  3. Ensures efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with standard security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  4. Implementation and administrative support (patching/maintenance/configuration etc.) to all AWS Cloud services e.g., data warehouse and data pipeline, addressing issues, and supporting activities needed to maintain the Cloud AWS environment, such as user access/security/release/schedules management.
  5. Manages cloud-based infrastructure (IaC) and services, using industry leading practices (automation techniques) to assure smooth application integration across the entire architecture.
  6. Implements and administers a CICD (Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery) (DevSecOps) pipeline for all systems, software, services, and infrastructure, using quality and security gates to manage CICD pipeline decision points to proceed from start to finish.
  7. Performs installation and management of open-source monitoring tools.
  8. Develops scripts, automating and orchestrating day-to-day operational tasks using AWS Cloud Formation/Terraform/Chef, using scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems.
  9. Ensures smooth operation of all systems, services, software, and infrastructure through appropriate management, patching, preventative maintenance, monitoring, alerting, and real-time remediation of any discovered issues.
  10. Serves as the engineer of complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment.
  11. Conducts research, designs, and creates prototypes of innovative solutions to facilitate application growth and a seamless customer experience.
  12. Identifies weaknesses in our tooling that will drive changes to the overall architecture, and works as a liaison to development and operations teams.
  13. Works tirelessly to arm developers with the best tools and ensure system uptime and performance.
  14. Works as part of an integrated project agile team, supporting day-to-day operational incident, change, and problem management cases.
  15. Works with the technical leads to develop full production support, processes, documentation, and operations plan, including monitoring/alerting solutions.
  16. Provides user access/security/release/schedules management.
  17. Follows established CMS standards for implementing Cloud configurations, Architecture, and Security.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of hands-on DevSecOps experience with AWS cloud architectures, CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions), log aggregation (Splunk), monitoring (New Relic), and security tools (Snyk, Tenable Nessus, AWS Security Hub), and release management.
  2. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  3. Expert knowledge of Cloud components such as DevSecOps scripts, S3 access management, and applications configuration.
  4. Experienced with tools such as AWS (server & serverless services), Ansible or Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, Jenkins, Git, and security scanning tools (Nessus, BurpSuite, Netsparker, OWASP, etc.), IaC (Infrastructure as Code) techniques for the full stack of Dev/Data Analytics.
  5. Experience in data organization skills, partitioning strategies, and data retention policies for data pipeline.
  6. Excellent investigative skills to find root cause for AWS Cloud problems, and to perform impact analysis for proposed changes.
  7. Familiarity and experience with Salesforce is a plus.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. AWS DevOps Engineer Certification.

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.

Occasional travel for training and project meetings is estimated to be less than 5% per year.

Candidates are expected to participate in on-call rotations, during business hours, and as needed (for high-priority incidents) outside of normal business hours.
