Job Description: A leading company in the energy sector is seeking a Senior Production Engineer, Measurement Systems Engineer to join their team. The engineer will be based at the corporate office in Arlington, VA 5 days a week, with travel as needed to various operational sites.


Job Notes: The role requires presence in the corporate office five days a week, with relocation assistance available. The ideal candidate should have strong skills in process improvement, data analysis, vendor management, and documentation. The position involves wearing multiple hats and will require approximately 25% travel.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Metering and Measurements Management System for multiple facilities.
  • Ensure that all meters and measurement systems operate within the required design specifications, maintaining accuracy and minimizing uncertainty throughout the lifecycle of the equipment.
  • Oversee regular calibration, inspection, and certification of meters and maintain proper documentation within the company’s document management system.
  • Ensure operational and maintenance procedures for the metering systems are fully documented and up-to-date.
  • Monitor compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and reliability of all metering systems.
  • Support real-time production surveillance and optimization efforts through effective monitoring and analysis of metering data.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to communicate system changes and discrepancies in measurements.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on metering performance, identifying discrepancies and recommending improvements.
  • Work with specialized software to manage pipeline performance data, including gains and losses.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in collaboration with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams, and lead the implementation of changes to optimize LNG production.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely procurement, maintenance, and repair of metering equipment. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of metering systems, calibration logs, and operational procedures for audit and reporting purposes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control, Process, Chemical Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in instrumentation, measurements, and metering, with a proven track record of managing metering systems.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is required, with a preference for LNG, though other hydrocarbon processing backgrounds may be considered.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.


Work Environment:

  • Willingness to relocate to Arlington, VA.
  • Willingness to work in-office 5 days a week.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time.
