This position is responsible for supporting the Human Resources and EHS functions at the site, consisting of recruiting, onboarding, HR systems, training, and metrics. Apply the principles of Human Resources, including confidentiality of information, while performing analysis and reporting recommendations to HR Manager & EHS Manager. Adhere to the SGC Human Resources policies and procedures, as well as the Principles of Conduct and Action.
Recruiting: Assumes lead role in filling vacant hourly positions. Responsible for candidate communications throughout the recruiting process. Conducts phone screens and is responsible for scheduling in-person interviews. Gives frequent status updates to hiring manager throughout process. Creates offer letter and extends offer to candidate. Responsible for Time-to-Fill measurement (target: 60 days for hourly positions).
Onboarding: Responsible for candidate care upon offer acceptance, including initiating and ensuring completion of background check. Prepare hiring manager and drive engagement and completion of PPL Onboarding Checklist. Meet with new hires on day one to review Onboarding presentation. Ensure 30/60/90-day meetings are held, and documentation is returned.
HR Systems: Run weekly payroll, including verifying UKG and People Soft system. Submit HR Help Desk tickets as required. Prepare and submit PAF’s as needed to update People Soft records. Set up new hires in UKG and submit configuration requests and performs user acceptance testing of all changes. Responsible for ensuring data integrity, including performing periodic audits of People Soft and UKG data.
HR Metrics and other tasks : Responsible for running a variety of reports and calculations on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and providing to HR Manager and EHS Manager. Metrics to include (but not limited to) time to fill, turnover, absenteeism, Overtime, employee engagement in WCM process, training plans to gap, training hours, etc.
EHS support : Assist with a variety of reports to include, Monthly utility usage, Air permit, Product stewardship/sustainability and Toxic release inventory. Assist with keeping EHS platforms updated and current.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Administration, Business, HR, is preferred.
- 1 to 2 years HR or related experience in a manufacturing environment, is preferred.
- Experience with HR system such as PeopleSoft and UKG.
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
