Job Description
1. Design and Development:
- Conceptualization: Develop and conceptualize mechanical systems, components, or products based on project requirements.
- Detailed Design: Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
- Prototyping: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and ensure functionality.
- Engineering Analysis: Perform calculations and simulations to analyze mechanical performance, including stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics analysis.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to mechanical systems, designs, or manufacturing processes.
- Performance Testing: Conduct tests to evaluate the performance, durability, and safety of mechanical systems and products.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulations, and implement quality control measures.
- Project Planning: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for mechanical engineering projects.
- Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, designers, and stakeholders, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Production Oversight: Work with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are implemented correctly and resolve any production issues.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving manufacturing processes, materials, or technologies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs and processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Safety: Implement safety protocols and standards to ensure safe operation and use of mechanical systems.
- Research: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for enhancement and efficiency gains.
- Requirements Gathering: Work with clients or stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into design solutions.
- Presentations: Present design concepts, project updates, and technical information to clients or stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience (1+ years) in mechanical design and engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with engineering analysis tools and simulation software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
